Does adding a lift kit void GMC’s warranty?
I’m interested in adding a lift kit to my Sierra but I’m still in the middle of my warranty terms. Would changing my vehicle void the warranty?

There are many things that can potentially void all or parts of your
GMC
warranty, including adding a lift kit. According to GMC’s website, your limited warranty could be voided if the systems and parts under warranty are damaged by any of the following:
- Damage due to accident, misuse or alteration
- Damage or corrosion due to environment, chemical treatments or aftermarket products
- Damage due to insufficient or improper maintenance
- Damage due to contaminated, improper or poor-quality fuel
- Damage due to impact (e.g., flying debris)
But there is some good news! Adding a lift kit, specifically, won’t necessarily void your entire warranty—it just means that if GMC believes that damage to your vehicle resulted from the lift kit, they will deny your claim under the warranty coverage. Anything not related to the lift kit will still be covered.
