Does Acura make a hybrid SUV?
I want to treat myself to a car upgrade now that I’ve got a bit more money after a promotion. I like how reliable Acuras are, but I want something eco-friendly, too. Does Acura offer hybrid SUVs?

Acura did make a hybrid SUV for a while, but it was discontinued for the 2022 model year.
The Acura MDX Sport Hybrid was the last hybrid SUV option offered by the luxury brand. This hybrid option entered the MDX lineup in 2017 but was discontinued after the 2020 model year. Acura cites an intent to develop all-electric vehicles and leave the hybrids to its parent company, Honda, as the main reason for the MDX hybrid’s discontinuation.
Key highlights of the 2020 MDX Sport Hybrid included:
- A 3.0L V6 engine paired with three electric motors for a combined 321-hp
- Acura’s Super Handling all-wheel drive (SH-AWD)
- Three rows with seating of up to seven
- EPA-estimated 27 combined MPG
- Fair market resale price ranging from about $37,500 to $41,500
