Does a Honda warranty cover an oil change?

I recently bought a Honda Civic LX and I’m in drastic need of an oil change. It’s my first new car, so I’m not exactly sure how the warranty works. Will my Honda warranty cover my first oil change or any subsequent oil changes?

Unfortunately, an oil change for your
Honda Civic LX
is not covered under the
Honda
warranty. Oil changes are routine maintenance, so as a car owner, you’re entirely responsible for the oil change—and any other maintenance.
The 3-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty and 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty from Honda only cover defects or malfunctions due to the manufacturing process. It doesn’t cover wear and tear or maintenance.
As a result, you will need to take your car to a mechanic or a quick lube business, or you can change the oil yourself. If you change the oil yourself, note that your Honda Civic LX needs SAE 0W-20 motor oil and you’ll need 4.4 quarts to get the job done.
