I’m sorry to hear about your accident! Dealing with accidents is incredibly stressful, especially when you’re not at fault. However, you shouldn’t have to pay your
will approve it and pay the repair shop directly or mail you a check for the cost of repairs. Since you’re not submitting a claim to your insurance, you aren’t responsible for your deductible.
But if you need your car repaired ASAP and the other driver’s insurance is taking too long, you may need to submit a claim with your insurance. To speed up the process, some insurance companies have you pay your deductible and cover the cost of repairs.
Your insurance would then seek reimbursement from the at-fault driver’s insurance. Typically, this includes reimbursement of your deductible as well.
