Do you have to go to driving school in Maryland?

Is driving school a requirement for Maryland drivers, or can I get my license without going to any classes first? I don’t have a lot of time in my schedule for driver’s ed but I’ll make room if I absolutely have to.

Yes, you do have to go to driving school in
Maryland
. While driver’s ed isn’t a requirement in all states, it is a legal requirement in Maryland. In order to get your
provisional license
, you’ll need to find a way to fit it into your schedule.
To qualify for a license, you’ll need at least 30 hours of classroom training and 6 hours behind the wheel. This rule applies to all age groups as well, so you’ll still need to take driver’s ed even if you’re getting your license at 35.
