Do I need rideshare insurance?

Do I really need rideshare coverage? I drive twice a month for a ride sharing app. I have a good personal auto policy and the rideshare companies insurance.

“Even if you are only driving twice a month with a ridesharing app, it’s important to be properly covered. Some states even require that you carry rideshare insurance while driving for an app.
Rideshare insurance
typically fills in the gap between your personal auto policy and the rideshare companies insurance. While it may seem like a small period of time where you wouldn’t be covered, you never know what could happen.
If you do cause any accidents or injuries, you would be responsible for paying out of pocket for those costs.
Most
car insurance companies
offer rideshare coverage as an add on to your current policy for a low rate. By adding it onto your policy now, you could be saving thousands of dollars in the future.”
