Do Cadillacs have spare tires?
My wife drives a Cadillac XT5 and just called me saying she has a flat tire at work. I’m going to drive there to help her out, but I need to know if her vehicle has a spare or if I should bring a tire repair kit. Do Cadillacs have spare tires?

Whether or not your wife’s Cadillac has a spare tire will depend on the model and model year. However, the most likely answer is that there won’t be a spare.
Most modern Cadillacs no longer have spare tires. Like many manufacturers, Cadillac has largely done away with spares in an attempt to maximize cargo space and minimize vehicle weight, which effectively makes the car more fuel-efficient.
This may sound silly, but a spare tire and jack can add 40 to 50 pounds to your vehicle’s overall weight!
Instead, today’s Cadillacs come with a tire repair and inflation kit. The exact location of these supplies will depend on your vehicle’s model, but you can usually find them in a storage space in the trunk or rear cargo area. Detailed instructions regarding how to use the tire repair kit can be found in your Cadillac owner’s manual.
Keep in mind that some models do include compact spare tires as an option when purchasing—but this is something that you would’ve had to add on when customizing your vehicle. Additionally, if your wife’s Cadillac is significantly older, it may still include a spare.
Your wife should be able to check her rear cargo space or owner’s manual to confirm whether or not her vehicle includes the optional compact spare.
