Can you switch renters insurance at any time?

at any time, but your provider may have terms and conditions surrounding cancellations. Even if you just renewed your policy, you still have a right to switch providers. However, some insurers charge cancellation fees or have specific terms relating to when you can cancel a policy. You’ll want to review your policy’s terms and conditions to see what your company’s policies are.
That said, most insurance companies will allow you to cancel at any time by calling their customer service department. After providing your information, you can give them the effective date for your cancellation. When switching to another company, make sure your cancellation date aligns with your new policy’s effective date.
