Can you service leased cars wherever you want?

Can I service the car wherever I want, or do I have to take it to the dealer? I know that I might have to pay for some of the service on a leased car; however, I don't want to pay outrageous dealer prices.

“Unless stipulated in the lease contract, you should be able to get the car serviced wherever you want.
This also applies if you need to get your car repaired following an accident, even if you’re using your
car insurance
to pay for the repairs.
Keep in mind that many dealerships will give you the impression that you have to take the leased vehicle to them for service, but this isn’t true per the wording and consumer protection afforded by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Under this act, you can take your car wherever you want and the warranty will remain valid.
As long as you’re adhering to the suggested or required service, you shouldn’t have any problems.
While car insurance is not part of a regular maintenance schedule, it is a good idea to review your policy to make sure you’re not overpaying. Regular reviews can help you save money. If you want help automating this, try using the
Jerry
app. Jerry automatically reviews your policy every six months by comparing rates with the top 50 providers. What’s better than saving money on car insurance? Doing this for free.”
