Can you leave your car on the side of the road overnight if you have a flat tire?
"So this is a hypothetical question. If I get a flat tire in the middle of the night, should I leave my car there if I can't fix it?"
“If you have roadside assistance or towing and labor coverage, take advantage of it.
It’s cheap to add to your existing car insurance and gives you peace of mind.
If you don’t have it, you could definitely leave your car overnight, but know the risks.
- Take all valuables out of the car or stow them in the trunk.
- Leave a note on the car or tie something to the antenna to signal to law enforcement that you’re returning to the vehicle.
By doing so, you ensure that your car won’t be towed or impounded.“
