The short answer to this question is yes, you can get a reckless driving charge expunged in California in some cases. In order to do so, you’ll need to pay the fines and serve the penalties of your sentencing.
For a reckless driving charge in California, this might include:
- A fine between $45 and $1,000
- A probation term of up to two years
- A county jail sentence of up to 90 days
If you can complete the terms of your sentencing without additional charges or legal trouble of any kind, you can ask your lawyer to submit some paperwork on your behalf in order to get the charge expunged. But if you are unable to do so, a reckless driving charge will typically remain on your record for 10 years in California.
