Can you flat tow a Lincoln MKZ?
I have a Lincoln MKZ that I’d like to take with me on my next road trip. However, my husband and I usually take our RV to cut down on hotel costs. Can we flat tow our Lincoln MKZ?

It all depends on what’s under the hood—a Lincoln MKZ with a 3.0-liter V-6 is the only version that you can flat tow. If you have a 2.0-liter Lincoln MKZ, you cannot flat tow it. In either case, you can always use a flatbed trailer to tow the car without any issues.
If you have a 3.0-liter MKZ, you need to put your car in Stay in Neutral mode before you tow. Here’s how to do it:
- Press the neutral (N) button on your gear shift.
- You should see a message appear on your information display screen prompting you to press the neutral (N) button
- Press the neutral (N) button again to enter Stay in Neutral mode. A message will appear on your information display screen when your vehicle has entered Stay in Neutral mode.
- You’re done!
