You can flat tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee if it has a two-speed power transfer unit (PTU). This includes 4x4 models.
If your Cherokee is front-wheel drive but offers 4x4 functionality, however, this version cannot be flat towed. And any trim that is not 4x4 most likely will require a dolly or trailer to be towed safely.
Below is the necessary equipment to flat tow a 2017 Jeep Cherokee:
