background
The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor only comes as a crew cab with a bed size of 66 inches, or 5.5 feet.
Released in 2010 as a Ford F-150 derivative, the Ford Raptor is designed to conquer the most challenging of terrains—whether that’s rocky boulders in the rain or shifting desert sands. Outfitted with Fox shock absorbers, rear coil springs, and up to 37 inches of off-road tires, the Raptor is truly one mean off-roading machine. That’s not even mentioning its 450-horsepower turbocharged V6 with 510 lb-ft of torque!
Given its extreme off-roading prowess, can the Raptor’s truck bed manage hefty loads, too, though? Here with the dimensions and specs for you to judge is

2022 Ford Raptor truck bed dimensions

The 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor comes in one cab/bed configuration: the “SuperCrew” crew cab and a 5.5-foot truck bed
Five feet and 6 inches might not seem like a lot in a world where you can configure a Dodge RAM 1500 with an eight-food truck bed. But it’s not just bed length that matters when trying to transport plywood or furniture in your pickup. Here’s a look at some of the Ford Raptor truck bed’s other dimensions:
  • Bed length: 66 inches
  • Bed width (at floor): 65.2 inches
  • Bed width (between wheel housings): 50.6 inches
  • Bed depth: 21.4 inches
  • Total cargo volume: 52.8 cubic feet
The newest Ford Raptor generation increased payload capacity by 200 pounds since its last generation (2017 to 2020)—with a maximum payload capacity of 1,400 pounds in the 2022 model. Combined with the Raptor’s spacious 52.8 cubes of cargo volume, this could easily amount to several pieces of clunky wooden furniture, an ATV (or two), or a few pallets of bricks.
Maximum towing capacity also received a 200-pound increase since the last generation—at 8,200 pounds today. This will allow you to tow that midrange camper or trailer along for your off-road camping adventure without a problem.
Though the Raptor’s lack of truck bed configuration options may seem limiting, it's not the only pickup truck to come in one size. In fact, the 2022
RAM 1500 TRX
, arguably the Raptor’s closest competitor, only comes in crew cab layout as well. However, its truck bed is a bit longer at 5 feet and 7 inches (67.4 inches) and it has a slightly more impressive total cargo space of 53.9 cubic inches
Therefore, if you’re on the market for a pickup truck that’s capable of more hauling than off-roading, the RAM (or any other
F-150
trim for that matter) might be a better choice. Otherwise, there’s really nowhere your Ford Raptor can’t go—and it can carry and tow a decent amount while it’s going, too.

2022 Ford Raptor storage and cargo specs

The Ford Raptor cabin has some tricks up its sleeves (well, walls). There are many spaces for personal item storage: including a large central storage compartment, door pockets, dual front cupholders, and a foldable gear-shifter to make space for a built-in workstation
As for in-bed storage, you may have to install a truck bed storage system to add some organization to your Raptor’s rear end. The Raptor’s cargo bed does come with a very handy Pro Power Onboard power system, however, which allows you to charge devices like power tools or small appliances directly from the truck bed. You can either opt for a 2 kW or 2.4 kW system, or a 7.2 kW system if you have a hybrid powertrain.
