Am I covered driving someone else’s car?

I was out with my friend the other night, and she got pretty drunk, so I had to drive her car home for her. I hadn’t been drinking, so I was totally sober. But I couldn’t help but wonder if I would have been covered by insurance if I got into an accident driving her car.

Many of us have found ourselves in this situation, and driving your friend’s car home for her rather than letting her drive herself was the right move. Generally, the car owner’s insurance will cover you, as long as the owner grants you permission to drive and the insurance for her car is currently active.
The
liability coverage
from your own insurance policy should extend to your friend’s car to cover any damages in the event you are in an accident and her coverage isn’t enough, but you will want to confirm this with your insurance agent.
