It’s no surprise that many car brands are invigorating their lineups to accommodate the growing popularity of electric vehicles. And
Chevrolet
is among them. Let’s take a closer look at two of its offerings in order to spot the differences between the Chevy Bolt EV vs. EUV.
The Bolt EV is a compact car that was redesigned in 2022. It also comes with an affordable new price tag. The Bolt EUV is new for the 2022 model year and has a bigger
crossover
look. Let’s figure out which best suits your needs.

Chevy Bolt EV vs. EUV: The exterior styling

On the surface, these electric Chevrolet vehicles differ in shape. The Bolt EV has kept its hatchback look from previous years, while the Bolt EUV commands a larger stance with an SUV design.
Specifications provided by
Consumer Reports
confirm that the EUV has a slightly wider turning circle due to its wheelbase being three inches greater than the EV’s. The crossover sports taller and longer dimensions than the car, at 64 and 170 inches, respectively.

Inside the cabin

The Bolt EV is laden with standard features that increase with the second trim level. Add Surround Vision to your purchase, giving drivers a 360-degree view around the vehicle. Obstacles are now in clear view.
Enjoy the remote engine start and 10.2-inch touchscreen. However, only the Bolt EUV makes SuperCruise available to buyers. This is Chevrolet’s autonomous driving system that allows you to take your hands off the wheel. So long as you keep your eyes on the road!
While it’s certainly not top of its class for spaciousness, the Bolt EUV does boast an additional three inches of legroom for rear passengers in comparison to the Bolt EV. Both vehicles offer the same dimensions for front-row seating.
And the same goes for cargo space, surprisingly. With the back seats folded down, the car and SUV models have 57 cu. ft. available for storage.

How do they perform?

According to
MotorBiscuit
, the EV and EUV share the same platform and are front-wheel drive. The electric motor makes an even 200 hp and is paired to the same battery pack.
Range is 259 miles in the Chevy Bolt EV. Because the Chevy Bolt EUV weighs nearly 200 lbs more than its counterpart, its range is diminished by about 10 miles. With a 220-volt outlet at home, the vehicles will fully recharge in 7.5 hours.
Since these models are relatively new to the car market, reliability scores are not ideal. Only time will tell the outcome of maintenance required and recalls made.

Insuring a Chevy Bolt EV vs. EUV

Buyers on a budget will want to opt for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV. Its pricing starts at $31,000, which is a savings of $5,000 over a brand new 2021. The cost of a 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, however, is upwards of $33,000.
If interior features are more of a priority, then the Bolt EUV is the best route. Otherwise, both vehicles are built with similar cargo and passenger capacity. Safety features and warranty coverage are also interchangeable since they’re both in Chevrolet’s lineup.
