The
Audi e-tron GT
electric vehicle (EV) has two trim levels, each with its own driving range. The Audi e-tron GT Quattro has a driving range of 238 miles and the Audi RS e-tron GT Quattro has a driving range of 232 miles.
A decade or so ago, Tesla brought the electric
Model S
sedan to market and transformed the entire electric vehicle industry. Presently, this Tesla is still the best EV on the road, but it comes with a price tag of roughly $100,000. Needless to say, it’s not a car that every driver can afford.
Luckily, there are now several alternatives for the average consumer. One popular option is the Audi e-tron GT. But what is the Audi e-tron GT’s driving range—and how does it stack up to some of its rivals?

The Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT driving range is 238 miles for the Quattro model—which is pretty good. It can go this distance without needing a charge courtesy of its 93.4 kWh battery and a 552-horsepower motor
Then there’s the Audi RS e-tron GT Quattro, which has a driving range of 232 miles. It features the same battery as the GT Quattro but with 637 horsepower.
Sure, no Audi EV comes close to the stellar 412-mile rangeof the Model S Long Range. That said, it ranks close to certain competitors like the
Kia
EV6 (310 miles) and the
Chevrolet Bolt
(259 miles).
When you consider that the average American’s work commute is 16 miles, the Audi e-tron GT can easily get you through the week on a single charge. So, you won’t be desperately searching for a charging station on your way to the office.
The Audi e-tron GT’s driving range is practical for most drivers—especially if you spring for some upgrades (if available).

The Audi e-tron GT charging time and fuel economy

When it comes to EVs, there are several important factors to consider beyond the driving range. Charging time is one—you need to know how long your car will be unavailable while recharging.
The e-tron GT has impressive charging capabilities. Per Audi, it can be recharged from 5% to 80% in 23 minutes when using the standard 270 kW DC fast charger.
Charging an Audi e-tron GT at home from 0% to 100% can take up to 55 hours with a 1.9 kW level 1 charger. But if you use an 11 to 22 kW level 2 charging station, it should take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. Alternatively, it only takes 40 minutes with fast charging at a public station.
When it comes to fuel economy, the 2022 GT gets 82 MPGe and the 2022 RS e-tron GT gets 81 MPGe.
Overall, the Audi e-tron GT’s charging time and fuel economy shouldn’t hold any owner back from getting to work, running errands, or taking their EV out for some fun on the weekend.

How does the Audi e-tron compare to its competitors?

The EV market is growing more competitive every day. Audi’s biggest EV rivals are the Porsche Taycan, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the Tesla Model S, and the Lucid Air.

It’s a close race between these EV models. They all cost roughly the same and have the torque to go 0 to 60 with ease. That said, the EQS, Tesla Model S, and Lucid Air offerbetter driving ranges. If this is important to you, consider these three models.

How to save money on electric car insurance

Research indicates that
insurance for electric cars
is, on average, costlier than for gas-powered vehicles. The reason is that EVs are usually pricier, worth more, and more expensive to repair.
If this has held you back from buying an EV, it’s time to reconsider. Driving an electric car doesn’t have to mean paying astronomical insurance premiums—not with
