2022 Mazda 3 customization options

The Mazda 3 is a long-time frontrunner in the world of compact sedans with its sporty handling, stylish looks, and an interior that feels premium at all levels. Even better, you can customize it to your heart’s delight with over a half-dozen available trim levels, three engine choices, and the rarely-seen option for a manual transmission.
Car and Driver made the 2022 Mazda 3 an Editors’ Choice with a 9/10 rating and deemed it great for “buyers with champagne taste but only a sparkling cider budget.”
There are eight trim levels available for the 2022 Mazda 3: the 2.0, 2.5 S, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Turbo, and Turbo Premium Plus. Whew! The 2.0 and 2.5 S are the lower levels and are geared towards more everyday driving, while the Select trim is the most popular
Higher levels will include things like a heads-up display, heated front seats, an upgraded sound system, and leather upholstery. Trim level starting prices range from $21,150 on the low end to $34,115 on the more expensive side
Mazda offers three different four-cylinder engines on the 3. The base level is a 2.0 liter, 155 horsepower engine, with the next step up being the 2.5 liter, 186 horsepower version. Buyers who like more under the hood will want to spring for the turbocharged 2.5 liter option, which delivers 250 horsepower
For drivers in wet or snowy areas who need a bit more traction, all-wheel drive is available with the higher of the two engine choices for an extra $1,400. If you’re a fan of the dying art of the stick shift, then you’re in luck! The Mazda 3 offers the increasingly rare option for a manual transmission, but only on front-wheel drive iterations.
While the Select trim level is the most popular, the 2.5 S will suit the needs of most drivers. It offers more features and power than the base model, and also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, which are practically must-haves these days. Plus, the 2.5 S is eligible for more option packages, so you can add on more features as desired.
Key Takeaway The Mazda 3 is available in eight trim levels with three engine options, all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, with the rare choice of a manual transmission—a customizable car if there ever was one!

How to customize your Mazda to save money

When you think about adding on options and accessories at the dealership, it usually means that you're going to be spending more money. You don’t want to go over your budget, and loading up on the extras will often have the consequence of raising your insurance premiums.
That being said, there are a few options that might actually save you some money in the long run:
  • Splash guards: These are available as sets of two and you can get them on both front and rear wheels. They’ll not only keep your car cleaner, but will also help prevent costly road damage.
  • Rear bumper guard: This stainless steel bumper guard looks good while protecting your bumper from damage caused by road debris and the regular wear from loading and unloading the trunk.
  • Safety and driver assistance packages: Every Mazda 3 comes with a suite of safety and driver assistance technology, but adding on additional safety features can mean a reduction in your insurance premiums.
  • Manual transmission: Not only will you be one of the few, proud, stick shift drivers, but cars with manual transmission are often less expensive to insure.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
