background
Your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a bolt pattern of 5x5 or 5 on 5, so every wheel has five bolts that create a circle five inches in diameter.
Let’s face it, many Jeep owners want to take their vehicle off-road, which can mean changing your factory tires for something better suited for those adventures. However, you don’t want to look for
new wheels
without knowing more about your Jeep’s bolt pattern. You will learn everything you need to know about your bolt patter in this handy
car repair
guide.

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee bolt pattern

The bolt pattern for any Jeep Grand Cherokee
from 2015 is 5x5 or 5 on 5. If you’re wondering what that means, every bolt or lug pattern uses the same basic formula:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they create
Since your 2015 Grand Cherokee has a 5x5 lug pattern, each wheel uses five bolts set in a circle that measures five inches across. However, you also need the stud size, wheel offset, center bore measurement, and torque specifications:
  • Factory wheel size: 17”, 18”, or 20”
  • Stud size: M14 x 1.5
  • Offset: 30 to 45 mm
  • Center bore: 71.5 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 176 Nm

How to measure your Jeep Grand Cherokee’s bolt pattern

While the information above is enough to change your tires, learning how to measure a bolt pattern can still be handy! Just be sure you have a measuring tape or ruler before you start.
Choose a bolt on one of your tires, then pick a bolt across from it – you can’t measure in a perfectly straight line because of the uneven numbers, so choose the nearest bolt. Then, using your ruler, measure from the outer edge of the first lug hole to the center of the opposite bolt. This measurement gives you the diameter.
You can add the diameter measurement to the number of bolts to get your bolt pattern (number of bolts x diameter of the circle they form), so in this case, 5x5.
Once you have these numbers, you can modify your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, whether you
upgrade your tires
, add new rims, or anything else. Just be aware that you’ll want to check with your insurance agent since
aftermarket parts impact your car insurance
and the overall value of your Jeep.
And don’t forget to try out your new wheels!
