Where is the Kia Carnival’s OBD port location?

I inherited an OBD scanner from my dad and want to give it a test run on my malfunctioning minivan. I’m just not sure where it’s supposed to plug in. Where is the OBD port in a Kia Carnival?

You’ll find the OBD port in a
Kia Carnival
above the brake pedal in the driver’s footwell. Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
  • Open the driver’s side door of your vehicle
  • Locate your gas and brake pedals in the driver’s footwell
  • Look to the top, left-hand side of your brake pedal (you may have to crouch down to see!)
The OBD connector will look like a vertical black rectangle. Once you’ve found the port in your vehicle, you can plug in your OBD tool and scan for
trouble codes
.
Something to keep in mind is that, if you drive an older version of the Carnival (such as a model made in the late 1990s or early 2000s), the OBD port may be in a different location. In older models, the OBD connector is stashed along with the fuses and relays in your minivan and is only compatible with a non-standard, Kia-specific scanner tool.
