The 1994 Ford F-150 has a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Each wheel has five bolts forming a circle 5.5 inches in diameter.
The 1994 F-150 is the truck that keeps on trucking. Originally released almost 30 years ago, you can still find used models for sale. Many have over 100,000 miles logged and could still have over double that left in them.
While they may be reliable, their appearance is, shall we say, a little outdated. If you want to update the tires to add a more modern look, you’ll need the bolt pattern.
That’s why Jerry
, the car insurance
expert, is here with the 1994 Ford F-150 lug pattern. And if you’re looking to save money on Ford F-150 car insurance costs
, we can help with that, too! 1994 Ford F-150 Bolt Pattern
The 1994 F-150 isn’t the only set of wheels with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Ford lug patterns
didn’t change for F-150 models from 1987 to 1996 (and plenty of other Ford models shared the same pattern, too!). But what does this bolt pattern mean? There are two parts to it. The first number—five, in this case—refers to the number of bolts on each wheel. The second is the diameter of the circle created by the wheel’s bolts. You will also see these specifications referenced as lugs or lug patterns.
If you want to replace your tires, make sure to get a new set with a matching pattern; otherwise, your new wheels won’t fit. This is especially important to check when buying from a company other than the original equipment manufacturer.
You’re in luck, though. Five is the most common lug number for bolt patterns, so you should have no problem finding tires that fit.
Additional specifications you should know before changing out your tires include:
Stud size: 12 mm x 1.75 (12 mm stud with 1.75 mm thread spacing)
Wheel tightening torque: 135 Nm
How to measure your Ford F-150’s bolt pattern
While we’ve provided all the necessary measurements above, some car owners like to be more hands-on. We get that! Calculating your own measurements is simple. You’ll just need a tape measure or a ruler—and your tire, of course.
Starting at the outer edge of one bolt hole, you’ll measure all the way across to the center of the opposite hole. There are five bolts, so there won’t be a direct opposite. Pick either of the two nearest and take your measurement from there.
This will give you the diameter of the circle, or the second number in the bolt pattern. Put this together with the number of lugs, and you’re finished!
