If you need help resetting the engine oil maintenance light on your 2010 Ford Edge, you’ve come to the right place! In this article, we’ll walk you through how to manually reset the engine oil maintenance light, as well as discuss how often you should get an oil change and what oil you should be using to fuel your Ford Edge. Let’s jump in!

How to reset the engine oil maintenance light on a 2010 Ford Edge

The engine oil maintenance light indicates when your 2010 Ford Edge’s engine oil has dipped below the recommended amount and needs to be refilled. If the light is still on after getting an oil change, you’ll need to reset it.
If your Ford Edge has a digital dashboard, follow these instructions:
  • Turn the key to the on position, without starting the engine
  • Utilizing the menu on the steering wheel, click the MIDDLE button
  • Select SETTINGS, then CONVENIENCE
  • Scroll down to OIL LIFE RESET
  • And select SET TO 100%
If your Ford Edge does not have a digital dashboard, follow these instructions:
  • Turn the key to the on position, without starting the engine
  • On the left-hand side of the steering wheel, press and release the SETUP button until the Oil Life on your Edge’s dashboard shows 0%
  • Press and hold the RESET button until your engine oil shows 100%
And voila! You’ve successfully reset your engine oil maintenance light. The light will come back on again when your engine oil needs to be changed.

How often does a 2010 Ford Edge need an oil change?

Ford recommends changing your vehicle’s oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Staying up to date on oil changes keeps your Ford Edge in optimum operating order. Missing a scheduled oil change may seem like no big deal, but it can lead to
serious engine damage
.
If you’d rather forgo a trip to the mechanic and change your vehicle’s oil at home, you can do that, too! Keep in mind that you should use Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 engine oil (or an equivalent SAE 5W-20 oil) in your Ford Edge. Consult the
owner’s manual
for step-by-step instructions on how to check and add oil to your Ford Edge
If you choose to change the engine oil yourself, you’ll also have to reset the engine oil light, which, as we’ve said, is fairly easy to do at home. If the light won’t turn off or if there’s another maintenance due, it may be best to bring your Ford Edge to a trusted mechanic.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
