A bolt pattern of 5x5.3 simply means your F-150’s wheels each have five bolts, set in a circle 5.3 inches in diameter.

If you are looking to do a complete wheel overhaul, the measurements don’t stop there—you should also know your stud size, wheel offset, center bore measurement and torque specifications:

Factory wheel size: 16”

Stud size: M12 x 1.75

Offset: -10 to 25 mm

Center bore: 87.1 mm

Wheel tightening torque: 204 Nm

The specifications listed above should be all of the information needed to change your wheels, but if you’d like to measure the truck’s bolt pattern for yourself, we have another simple formula.

First, grab a tape measure or standard ruler. Next, pick any bolt and measure from its lug hole’s outer edge to the center of the bolt opposite it. Since there is an odd number of bolts, you are going to land in between two bolts when you measure straight across. Just pick one of the two closest lugs, and measure to the center of that one.

Now that’s measured your diameter, just put it together with the number of bolts on each wheel, and you have your bolt pattern!
