Lexus
has lived up to its brand ideals once more by finally bringing to life the LF-1 Limitless. This concept was first unveiled at the 2018 North American International Auto Show but did not make it to the production line until much later.
What is limitless about the new crossover? How does
the crossover design differ from the SUVs
of the same brand? Learn about the various features of this amazing luxury vehicle and the possibilities it opens to its owners to determine if it is truly limitless.

The LF-1 Limitless signature limitless design concept

Lexus
explains that the concept's design was created by Calty Design Research, a company based in California. This company helped Lexus achieve a simple yet elegant design called "molten katana." The design incorporated the sharp edges of the traditional Japanese sword with organic shapes of liquid metal.
In addition, the vehicle has a small roofline but a raised ride height, which enhances its performance and practicality. The vehicle also has a spindle grille like all the current Lexus models. However, this grille features a three-dimensional design with LED lighting all around.
The Lexus LF-1 has bold lines and a creased front fender that slowly flows to the scalloped front door. Then the design builds back again and envelopes the back, creating a sculptured, coke-bottle-like appearance common with the vintage muscle cars. Its back features a split spoiler and a huge glass window to enable an uninterrupted view of the scenery around you.

The LF-1 Limitless comfort and interior design

The crossover interior is built with the Japanese omotenashi, or hospitality concept, in mind. Its dashboard has a few distracting knobs and buttons but more motion-activated controls with a minimalist display. The vehicle has expansive legroom both in the front and back seats.
Back passenger seats come with individual climate control and entertainment options, keeping the passengers as engaged as those in the front. The vehicle also features miniature interior lighting that creates a twinkle in various colors when driving. There are also direct LED lights when you need more light.
According to
Top Speed,
car owners choose chiffon white perforated leather seats or cocoa-brown leather. The vehicle also has metallic trim and a big digital display on the dashboard. Its steering wheel is also sporty, and the driver can activate the hands-free Chauffeur mode, which is an autopilot system like the one found on Tesla.

What engine does the LF-1 Limitless Crossover use?

There are few details about the type and configuration of the drivetrain. However, to keep with the limitless concept, the company announced that the vehicle could use everything from the fuel cell to gasoline, electricity, or a combination of all three. Lexus has been dropping V8 engines and going for twin-turbo V6 engines.
By 2025, it plans to have all vehicles either electric or hybrid. Therefore, it is expected to implement the same on the new crossover and later models in the line.
