Does Anyone Regret Buying a Honda Ridgeline?

The Ridgeline cruises through the desert.
Did you know that
Honda’s
first production automobile was a truck? The T360 pickup was released way back in 1963, meaning Honda has been building and developing trucks for almost 60 years.
You might think decades of experience should count for something, but truck fans are a fickle bunch, and the 2022 Honda Ridgeline has been treated with contempt since its release last year.
The reason? The Ridgeline is built using a unibody frame (dramatic gasp)! To traditional truck fans—accustomed to body-on-frame construction—this seriously undermines its credibility.
However, according to a recent survey, Honda Ridgeline owners love their vehicles! In fact, Ridgelines are the second-most “satisfying” trucks on the market.

MORE: Does a Lifted Honda Ridgeline Make Any Sense?
Each year,
Consumer Reports
(CR) asks its members if they would buy their current car again, and by collating the answers, determine which vehicles have the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
CR’s most recent survey has named the Honda Ridgeline as the second most satisfying truck to own (behind the Ford F-350 Super Duty).
It might not please the traditionalists, but the Ridgeline’s unibody construction, in association with a fully independent suspension, gives it incredible versatility and handling when compared to most other pickups.
Under the hood it has a powerful 3.5-liter V6, with the best fuel economy in its class.
Sure, it doesn’t have the same towing or payload capacity as bigger, body-on-frame models, but it boasts a more comfortable ride, and still has plenty of storage.
If you are an avid off-roader, or need a truck capable of doing some real heavy lifting, the Honda Ridgeline is a poor choice, but the vast majority of owners have no regrets about buying one.
