Will a queen mattress fit in a truck bed?
I’m helping a friend move into a new apartment and he has a queen-sized mattress. I’ve never moved a mattress that big before. Will a queen-sized mattress be able to fit in a truck bed?

It’s always good to hear about friends helping each other out, though you must often get asked for help moving since you have a pickup truck! To get to the point, however, a queen mattress should fit in most pickup truck beds, depending on the length and width of the bed. It’s a good idea to measure your truck bed first.
Even with a truck bed that is smaller than the mattress, you can still make it work. All you need to do is:
- Cover the mattress with a tarp or large sheet
- Lay it at an angle in the truck bed with the overhang to either side of the truck
- Use ratchet straps and anchor points in the bed to secure the mattress
- Double-check the straps before hitting the road
