Why won't the windshield wipers won't turn off in my Ford Explorer?

My windshield wipers will not shut off, and the problem is getting worse. When I turn them off, they will still run on a low setting. Why won't the windshield wipers won't turn off in my Ford Explorer?

Windshield wipers are important to have, just like the right tires or the right

 policy. But what do you do if you can’t get them to turn off? If the windshield wipers won’t turn off in your Ford Explorer, you more than likely have a problem with the windshield wiper switch.
The switch has a lot of complex circuitry inside of it. If one or more of the internal circuits fail, the windshield wipers can stay on even when the switch is turned off. In this scenario, you’ll need to take your car to a mechanic to have the switch replaced.
