Why won’t my 2016 Dodge Caravan’s sliding door open?

I bought my car used a couple of months ago, but it was in pristine condition. It’s been driving great, but this morning the sliding doors jammed shut and won’t open. Why won’t my 2016 Dodge Caravan’s sliding doors open?

If your 2016
Dodge Caravan
’s sliding doors won’t open, the most likely reason is that the actuator has failed. Although no official recalls have been issued, this is one of the
most common problems
reported among 2016 Dodge Caravan owners.
The actuator is a small electric motor that controls your car’s locking mechanism. When you press a button on your
key fob
or on one of your car’s control panel buttons, your car’s computer sends a signal to the actuator to physically unlatch the doors. And, after time, the part can wear out and cause your doors to stick.
And, because you purchased your car used, it’s no longer under Dodge’s warranty. We’d recommend you take it to a local mechanic, instead of a dealership, for a more affordable fix.
