I was driving home from work today and all of a sudden, ALL my dashboard lights turned on. Why did this happen and is it dangerous?

When all your dashboard lights turn on at once, it is most commonly indicative of an issue with the alternator or the charging system. If possible, try to minimize driving long distances.
A potential problem with the alternator could mean that your car could lose power unexpectedly while driving. This can be extremely dangerous, especially if you’re on the freeway or a busy road.
However, without the car being checked professionally, it’s hard to tell what is wrong. We recommend bringing your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to minimize potential damages and risks.
Understanding the lights on your dash is an easy way to save yourself trouble on the road. But in case of an emergency, having
towing and labor coverage
or roadside assistance can help to prevent problems and get you the help you need.
