Which hybrid car can drive the farthest before needing a charge?

I want to drive a more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient car, but I live in an area where charging station infrastructure isn’t ideal. In lieu of going fully electric, is there a hybrid car out there with a long electric range, but that will allow me to still rely on gas sometimes?

You’re not alone when it comes to looking for a super-efficient hybrid car, and thankfully there are quite a few options! For a great electric range, you’re going to want a plug-in hybrid or a PHEV.
The absolute longest-range PHEV on the market right now is the 2021 BMW i3 REx with an electric range of 126 miles. The i3 REx is not your typical hybrid, however. The PHEV does not offer any ability to manually engage the gasoline engine. Instead, it comes with a 2.5-gallon gas tank which acts as a “range extender.” The tank provides an additional 70 miles of range after the electric battery taps out.
