Help! I’m sitting in a gas station with a gallon of windshield wiper fluid I just bought. I’d like to fill my car’s wiper fluid reservoir. Where’s the windshield wiper fluid located?

No worries! Figuring out where the windshield wiper fluid reservoir is located may take a few minutes, but this guide will help you figure it out.
First, open your hood. Likely, you’ve done this already, but this step is worth noting. The reservoir will be located in the engine compartment.
Now, look for a white or translucent container. It may be near the base of the windshield.
Look at the cap on the container. It should have a windshield/water symbol on the cap. You may see words on the cap, such as washer fluid.
If you’ve located a plastic reservoir in the engine compartment and aren’t sure whether the icon on the cap is the windshield/water symbol, consult your owner’s manual or do an internet search.
Sometimes—when your car needs windshield wiper fluid—you just need some quick advice. And then, you can be on your way.
