Lamborghini was founded in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy in 1963, after Ferruccio Lamborghini had an argument with Enzo Ferrari about the quality of his cars.
It’s said that Lamborghini started his business company to make sports cars that were better and faster than Ferrari’s—and he even recruited five former Ferrari employees to help him!
While Ferrari would continue to outshine Lamborghini for a few more years, by 1967 the success of the Miura Sports Coupe finally established Lamborghini as Ferrari’s primary competitor—and the two companies continue to produce high-end race cars and supercars today.
