Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Nissan Sentra?

I’ve had a company car for the last month or so, and I’ll have to return it soon. But it’s having some engine trouble (totally not my fault—I think), so I surreptitiously called a repair shop in order to get a quote on a below-the-radar repair. The mechanic asked where the OBD port was, and I sat there, silent and dumbfounded. I didn’t know what he was talking about. “Nevermind”, he said after an awkward pause, “just bring the car in and I’ll find it”. That was easy. But I am curious—where is the OBD port on a 2019 Nissan Sentra?

On a 2019
Nissan Sentra
, the OBD port is located below dashboard on the driver’s side, in between the steering wheel and door.
“OBD port” stands for on-board diagnostic port, which a mechanic uses to plug in an OBD scan tool. This allows them to
read trouble codes
from your Sentra’s engine in order to figure out what’s causing your company car to perform below expectations.
So, when you open the driver’s side door, bend down and you’ll see the OBD port jutting out from the underside of the dash. Hopefully your mechanic will plug their scan tool in, figure out what the problem is, and then fix it—allowing you to return this no-longer-problematic company car while your employer is none-the-wiser.
