How do I find the gas tank release on a new Volkswagen Jetta? I’m borrowing my mom’s car and I was planning to fill it up with gas before returning it, but I can’t find the fuel door release lever.

The gas tank release on a
Volkswagen Jetta
is actually the door itself! All you need to do is stand next to your car with the doors unlocked and press the fuel door inward. When you do this, the door should pop open.If this doesn’t work, check to make sure that the vehicle is unlocked. If your Jetta is locked when you attempt to open the fuel door, the latch won’t spring open like it normally would. This prevents theft or tampering with your gas tank, so it’s an important safety feature on newer vehicles that don’t have a fuel tank lever.
