Where is the 2015 Nissan Rogue’s OBD II port located?

My 2015 Nissan Rogue’s “Check Engine” Light came on earlier this week—I bought an OBD II scanner but don’t know where the connector port is. Where is the 2015 Nissan Rogue’s OBD II port located?

OBD II port is located underneath the dash and above the gas/brake pedals—it should be easy to spot as it will have a black safety plug plugged into it.
After you locate the OBD II (or Diagnostic Link Connector/DLC) port, do the following:
  1. Make sure your vehicle is shut off.
  2. Remove the OBD II safety plug and insert the OBD II scanner’s connector cable into the port.
  3. Check the instructions with your scanner and verify whether the vehicle needs to be kept in the “ON” or “Idle” mode while the scanner is in use.
  4. Look for a message on the OBD II scanner’s LCD screen asking you to confirm the scanner’s connection. Allow the scanner to scan the engine computer for error codes (this only takes 4 - 5 seconds).
  5. Enter any information requested by the scanner. This usually includes the vehicle identification number (VIN), model, and engine type.
  6. Go to the OBD II scanner’s menu screen and select a system allowing you to see all “active” and “pending” codes.
  7. Identify and interpret the scanner’s readings.
All trouble codes consist of a letter followed by four numbers—but if this is your first time attempting to decipher error codes, here’s a crash-course on how to read them:
  • P (Powertrain): indicates an issue with the engine, emissions system, transmission, fuel system, or ignition.
  • B (Body): indicates an issue with the power steering, seat belts, or airbags.
  • C (Chassis): indicates an issue with the brake fluid, anti-lock brake system, or axles.
  • U (Undefined): if an issue doesn’t fall into these three categories, it will appear “undefined.”
As far as the numbers go, here’s what they mean:
  • 1st digit: tells you if the error code is generic (0) or manufacturer-specific (1)
  • 2nd digit: refers to a specific part
  • Last two digits: tell you what the actual problem is
