Unlike many car batteries, which are typically stowed under the hood, the 2014 GMC Acadia’s battery is located underneath the floor behind the front passenger’s seat. But getting to your battery isn’t difficult—all you have to do is slide the passenger seat forward, and unscrew the bolt that holds the battery cover in place. Once it’s loosened, you can lift the cover and access the floor pan underneath, where the battery sits.
While a battery in your car’s floor may seem odd, it’s actually a fairly popular location across many makes and models. In larger cars, putting the battery behind the passenger’s seat can help distribute the vehicle’s weight better and free up extra space under the hood.
