Where is the 2012 Nissan Altima OBD port location?

My Nissan is starting to act up, but I’d rather rent an OBD-II scanner than head to the mechanic straightaway. Can you tell me where to find the 2012 Nissan Altima OBD port location?

Using an OBD-II scanner before heading to the mechanic is an easy way to save a trip if you can! Luckily, we’re here to help you figure out where to use it.
The OBD port location on a 2012 Nissan Altima can be found on the underside of the steering wheel column. You shouldn’t have to remove any dash paneling to find it.
That said, you may want to push the driver’s seat back as far as it can go so you can get under the steering wheel. A flashlight will also help you find the 16-prong opening where you can plug in your OBD-II scanner.
You may be able to skip a trip to the mechanic’s by performing your own diagnostics with an OBD-II scanner—so long as you understand car OBD codes. After all, it’s much easier to make an informed decision regarding how to handle your car repairs if you know what’s actually going on with your beloved 2012 Nissan Altima.
