Where is the 2006 Hyundai Elantra OBD port located?
My check engine light came on, and I want to try to figure out the problem on my own with an OBD2 reader. Where is the 2006 Hyundai Elantra OBD port located?

If you want to read and understand OBD codes on a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, you’ll want to first locate the fuse panel. That’s the small removable panel to the lower left of your steering column. Then, go directly below that panel and look underneath the interior paneling to find the OBD port.
You probably already know that a check engine warning light could indicate a wide range of problems. It may be something as simple as a loose gas cap causing your engine light to come on. It could mean your Hyundai just needs a tune-up. Or it could mean something severe, like engine failure.
While an OBD reading may not tell you exactly what is wrong or how to fix it, it can give you an idea of what the problem may be and equip you with a little background knowledge before you take it to a mechanic.
