How do you open the gas tank on a Honda Crosstour?

I just bought a used Honda Crosstour and I’m still trying to get acquainted with all the controls. I need to fill up my gas soon, though, and I’m having trouble tracking down the fuel release button. How do you open the gas tank on a Honda Crosstour?

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new Crosstour! The reason you’re having a hard time finding a fuel release button is that you don’t need one to open the gas tank on a
Honda Crosstour
. All you have to do is unlock your doors, step outside of your Honda, and push on the rear edge of the fuel door until it opens slightly.
Here are some other tips to get you started:
  • Honda recommends that you leave the driver door open while refueling to prevent the auto-lock system from kicking in
  • Gas is pumped on the driver’s side in the Crosstour—to double check in any vehicle, just look for the direction the triangle arrow is pointing near the gas gauge
  • Your Crosstour takes regular unleaded gasoline with an
    octane rating
    of 87 or higher
  • The fuel tank capacity is 18.5 gallons
  • Once you’re done fueling, just twist the fuel cap back on, and press on the fuel door until it clicks into place
If you have more questions about your Crosstour’s ongoing maintenance, you can always consult your owner’s manual. You can also take a look at the label inside your driver’s side door jamb for useful information like your Crosstour’s VIN and tire inflation pressure.
