Where are Dodge parts made?

I’ve read that many companies are now moving operations overseas to cut production and overhead costs. However, I’m a bit concerned that this may hurt the quality of the U.S. automotive industry. I’m just not sure if it’s true for all brands. Where does Dodge make its parts?

Dodge makes parts at factories in Mexico, Canada, and the United States, but these facilities differ from the assembly plants where completed Dodge cars actually roll off the line.
Here is a quick look at all of the Dodge parts and where they’re made throughout North America:
  • Pistons and die castings: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
  • Transmissions and aluminum parts: Kokomo, Indiana
  • Metal stampings/sheet metal: Sterling Heights, Michigan
  • Torque converters and steering columns: Perrysburg, Ohio
With specific plants for specific purposes, Dodge can streamline the manufacturing process and maintain tight production deadlines. It’s one of the reasons why the company has been making cars continuously since 1900.
