When do I use low beams?
I’m trying to become a better driver. I know that using your headlights correctly is important. While I know when to use my high beams, when am I supposed to use low beams?

is a great way to avoid accidents. Not surprisingly, headlights play a crucial role in your safety and becoming a better driver. Use low beams in these situations:- During city driving, suburban driving, or other areas with well-lit roads
- When there’s fog, snow, or rain
- If another car is within 500 feet from your vehicle, whether the other motorist is driving the same way or coming from the opposite direction
Only use your high beams when necessary, including if you’re in a rural area, a place with no lights at all, or if you’re more than 500 feet away from other motorists.
