When did Hyundai start offering a ten-year warranty?

My partner and I were talking about buying a new car the other day, and we got on the subject of warranties. We couldn’t remember when Hyundai started offering their ten-year warranty— could you tell us?

Absolutely!
Hyundai
overhauled their warranty coverages in 2005, increasing many, including the original 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, which was extended to 10-year/100,000 miles.
As you and your partner continue discussing what new car to buy, remember that in addition to the 10-year powertrain limited warranty, Hyundai also includes the following warranties on all of their new super-reliable cars:
  • 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty
  • 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty
  • 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance
  • 12-month/12,000-mile replacement parts and accessories limited warranty
  • 8-year/80,000-mile federal emission defect and performance warranty
  • 7-year/70,000-mile CA emissions control systems warranty
Having a solid warranty is a great way to ensure you’re not paying out of pocket for unplanned repairs. Another is solid
