How do you connect to Bluetooth on a 2013 Ford Explorer?

I recently purchased a used 2013 Ford Explorer. I’m enjoying it, but I can’t figure out how to use Bluetooth. Any idea how to connect to Bluetooth on a 2013 Ford Explorer?

Luckily, connecting to Bluetooth in a 2013
Ford Explorer
is like connecting to Bluetooth in any Ford outfitted with Ford’s SYNC capabilities. Follow these steps to connect your device to Bluetooth:
  • Step one: Ensure Bluetooth is switched to “on” on your mobile device.
  • Step two: Press Phone > Add Phone on your car’s SYNC system. This will make the system discoverable on your mobile device. Your car will display a unique connection PIN.
  • Step three: On your mobile device, choose your Ford SYNC system in the Bluetooth menu. Your phone and car will begin pairing, and your SYNC screen will confirm the pairing request.
And that’s it! After following these steps, you’ll be able to make and receive hands free calls, stream your favorite music, and access navigation apps.
