What's the fuel efficiency rating for a Chevrolet Malibu?

So, I’ve been thinking about trading in my Toyota and getting a Chevy Malibu. There’s one at a used car place near my house and I really love the way it looks. I’m a little worried though because I’ve been spoiled by my Toyota’s great gas mileage. Would I be sacrificing that in the trade? What kind of fuel economy does a typically get Malibu?

The
Chevrolet Malibu
fuel efficiency will vary depending on the year it was manufactured and which trim level it is. That said, the Chevy Malibu does tend to get pretty great gas mileage.
So that you have some specifics to work with, let’s take a look at the fuel efficiency ratings for a 2021 base trim Chevy Malibu:
  • 32 MPG Combined
  • 29 MPG City
  • 36 MPG Highway
Numbers like these mean that you could expect a Chevy Malibu to get around 500 miles out of each tank of gas, since its tank is 15.8 gallons. Compared to the average new car, you’d spend about $2,000 less on gas over the first five years of owning your Malibu.
