What’s the correct 2015 Audi A6 oil type?
I haven’t owned my car very long, but I just realized I need to top off my oil. I’m not sure what kind I need, though. What’s the correct 2015 Audi A6 oil type?

Audi A6
oil type depends on whether you have an Audi A6 with a gasoline or diesel engine.Here is Audi’s requirement for the 2015 Audi A6 oil type based on what kind of engine it has:
Engine type | 2015 Audi A6 oil type |

Gasoline | VW 502 00 or VW 504 00 |
Diesel | VW 507 00 |
If you need to add oil to your engine but can’t find any that meets the above specifications, Audi says you can add “no more than 0.5 quart/liter” of a premium-quality synthetic oil that meets the specifications below:

Gasoline | ACEA A3 or API SM w/ viscosity grade of SAE 0W-30, SAE 5W-30, or SAE 5W-40 |
Diesel | ACEA C3 or API CF w/ viscosity grade of SAE 0W-30 or SAE 5W-30 |
Using an oil type other than what’s been recommended for your vehicle can lower your engine’s performance, or worse, cause serious (and costly) engine damage.
