The Dodge Viper’s top speed is a blistering 206 miles per hour. The Viper, discontinued in 2017, can go from 0-60 in an incredible 3.3 seconds.
Here’s a look at the top speeds of each generation of Dodge Viper:
- First generation, 1991–1995: 165 mph
- Second generation, 1996–2002: 187 mph
- Third generation, 2006: 190 mph
- Fourth generation, 2008–2010: 202 mph
- Fifth generation, 2013–2017: 206 mph
In 2020, a street-legal 2006 Dodge Viper was clocked at252.588 mph. That particular car had undergone a series of modifications and was using a set of experimental tires.
Still, even off the factory floor, the Viper is one of the fastest Dodge cars of all time. Here’s a look at how it stacks up against some other Dodge models:
- 2021 Dodge Challenger: 211 mph
- 2017 Dodge Viper: 206 mph
- 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat: 203 mph
- 1971 Dodge Challenger: 147 mph
- 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby: 140 mph
Dodge recently hinted at a possible rebirth of the Viper, though details are scarce. Fans of the muscle car may be disappointed to hear the newer Viper will be ditching the V-10 engine in exchange for a smaller V-8.
