What is the Subaru Impreza’s oil type?

I told my daughter I would change the oil in her Subaru Impreza, but now I realize I’m not sure what oil it takes. What kind do I need?

The
Subaru Impreza
oil type is a 0W-20 synthetic oil for models from 2012 to 2022. For models from 2002 to 2011, you’ll need 5W-30 conventional oil. Impreza models have a capacity of anywhere from 4.4 quarts to 5.3 quarts, depending on the model.
You’ll need to change conventional oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles to make sure your engine stays in good shape. But with synthetic oil, you may be able to go around 10,000 miles before needing an oil change—and some cars can even reach 15,000 miles!
