Maine
is definitely a smart idea. The Maine electric vehicle rebate offers up to $5,500 toward the purchase of a new EV, but only if you qualify.However, you may qualify for several Maine electric vehicle rebates, so check out this list:
- Buyers can get $5,500 toward the purchase of a new EV or $2,500 toward a used EV if they also receive aid from one of these programs: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or MaineCare. You must get preapproval from the state before you buy.
- Maine also has a standard electric vehicle rebate, which is $2,000 on the purchase of an EV. You can only claim two of these in a 12-month period, but every Maine resident is eligible.
