What is the Idaho speed limit?

I’m planning a trip out West and Idaho is at the top of my list of places to visit. My only issue is that I’m on a time crunch and I want to get to my destinations as fast as possible. What is the speed limit in Idaho?

If you want to hit all of your destinations safely and without getting a ticket, the
Idaho
speed limit is 80 mph. This speed limit ties the state for the highest speed limit in the country, but this mostly applies to sparsely populated and rural areas.
If you’re traveling in other areas of Idaho, make sure to observe these speed limits if none are posted:
  • 65 mph on most state highways
  • 55 mph on roads that aren’t state highways or the interstate (unless otherwise posted)
  • 35 mph in business districts and residential areas
Much of the West is rural, so consider
towing and labor coverage
for your journey. It protects you just as roadside assistance would, but it’s tied to your car insurance policy. The best place to find a great rate is with the
