It was introduced in 2011, but the brand announced that it would be ending production of the i3 this year. While the i3 was ahead of the curve at its time, it is being retired so that BMW can focus on producing its other electric cars—the BMWi4 and the BMW iX. The all-electric 2023 BMW i7 is expected to hit dealerships in the Fall of 2022.
